Facilities in Onslow

Ideal for families, groups, backpackers, couples and singles, the area boasts world class diving and snorkelling in its pristine turquoise waters. In fact, it's a water lover's paradise - fishing fanatics will find endless opportunities to fish off the beach or to head off shore.

Back on dry land, nature lovers are treated to an incredible variety of bird life on Thevenard Island, classified as a C-class Nature Reserve. This area is also a recognised breeding ground for Flat Back and Green turtles, and at certain times during the year you can watch them laying their eggs right on the beach.


Visitor Centre

The Onslow Visitor Centre is located in the Goods Shed Museum (Second Avenue) and is open from early April until the end of October from 9:00 am to 12 noon and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Monday to Saturday, closed Sunday and public holidays. The Shire and the Ocean View Caravan Park also offer visitor information when the Visitor Centre is closed.
