Geoffrey Herbert - Owner

Geoff_DSC01835_2X.jpgA born and bred West Aussie, with close family ties to the Onslow area, Scubaroo Dive owner, Geoffrey Herbert, discovered his passion for diving at the age of 12 when he and his father visited the Abrolhos Islands for a week of skin diving.

At 17, he completed his Open Water course at school and after a stint on the mines in WA's outback, he progressed with the Advanced Open Water. Subsequently, Geoff concluded his Rescue and Dive Master Courses and gained his Instructor Course with Tony Fontes - renowned locally as the man who 'instructs the instructors'. He then spent a year teaching in Port Hedland for Big Blue Dive where he attained his PADI Master Scuba Dive Trainer. Discovering that an ability to teach diving also doubled as a passport to travel the world, Geoff has spent the last 15 years indulging his passion.

But it was a three year stint spent instructing and guiding at Camel Dive Club, Sharm-el-Sheikh, on Egypt's Red Sea that gave Geoff the opportunity to see first hand how to manage an international dive operation and visualise how his own dive business would look and feel. Scubaroo Dive was born!

Geoff has instructed more than 200 students and logged over 3,000 dives in locations as diverse as:

  • The Great Barrier Reef
  • Coral Bay
  • Rottnest Island
  • Port Hedland
  • Onslow
  • South Africa
  • Egypt
  • Zanzibar
  • Thailand
  • Kenya

Geoff is your instructor for all PADI Dive courses, Dive-guide and relief Skipper.
