Scubaroo Dive
Scubaroo Dive was born out of
the desire of Geoffrey Herbert and Marie-Pierre Dussault to
communicate to others their enthusiasm for the beauty of Western
Australia's Coral Coast.
Returning from overseas in 2002, Geoff and partner Marie-Pierre, set about establishing Scubaroo Dive on Thevenard Island. Having been a regular visitor to the area for many years, Geoff knew that the waters and atolls off the Mackerel Islands were spectacular. After 15 years spent diving in some of the world's most renowned dive spots such as the Great Barrier Reef, South Africa, Egypt, Zanzibar, Thailand and Kenya, Geoff realised that the reefs of the Onslow region were world class.
Thevenard Island 's remoteness is part of its appeal for divers in search of the ideal getaway - for first timers and experienced adventure divers alike. The reefs and atolls are virtually untouched and the tropical waters are home to multiple creatures linked to form a delicate balance that Scubaroo Dive work hard to preserve. They encourage all guests to respect the 'no touching, no picking, just looking' policy on all dives.
Scubaroo Dive's philosophy is to encourage people to 'Look below the surface', and to not only experience an exciting new world, but to understand and appreciate the underwater world that surrounds us. It's about having a fun learning experience in a safe and stimulating environment.
